When my daughter was in TK, I would drop her off every day… Hang out with the Littles for a little bit and go to school, my own school site, generally hopeful. Of course, working in middle school meant that was quickly drained… However, this conversation happened one morning at drop off.
Lily sat down and started to play with her classmates, and they all began to share things that they were wearing or things that they had. Pink, headbands, blue shoes, a red jacket… Then they looked at me, and I said, the only thing that popped into my head…
”I have crippling despair and anxiety…” And you know, I said it with a smile.
But it gets better friends, the school psychologist, whose daughter happened to be in Lily‘s class… Overheard me and busted out laughing.
So yeah…
