10X20 Acrylic/Mixed Media on Canvas
Julie London’s signature style and voice come out clearly on this one, and it was such a treat to play it over and over and over again while finishing off the floral details on this one. If you look closely, you can see those debonair lashes - fake lashes - that I just love incorporating into my artwork.
This piece was especially exciting because I gave myself full permission to play with 3-D form in ways the others did or could not. The flowers feel like they are drooping over the side of her face, evoking the sad and “I told you so” sort of attitude this song evokes. Whatever it is, this lady looks completely done…cry me a river indeed, sir.
Mixed media collage, 3-D and all that jazz, with a layer of paint and acrylic markers for good measure. Fully varnished and set with a wire to hang - she’s ready to sit on your wall and bless the beauty of failed romances and “I told you so’s” in your space.
* Bonus: Can you spot the unicorn on her shoulder?
