“Hiking Somewhere in Anadel”
6X8 Watercolor on Fabriano Paper
$45
There’s a basin in our local park - Annadel - where on clear and people free days it feels like two hands cupped together, holding the entire basin in it’s palms. The inspiration for this piece is a football field sized stretch of valley, dotted with oak trees and surrounded by trails for miles. On particularly bright days the clouds creep in like little voyeurs, secretly watching life move along. I like to think that at the center of its basin runs a deep seam, where earth connects with earth, bridging old and new, trouble and untroubled moments, bringing the seen and unseen together. This particular stretch is part of my 45 minute power hike - a place I like to go when I need to walk off a problem or connect to myself in order to find myself.
I hope it helps you find yourself, too. UV sprayed to protect against the sun, make sure YOU put on your sunscreen when you go outside today, too.
