I read somewhere that the female octopus throws junk at males who bother her and honestly, I relate. Being a single mom can be pretty great at times, and once I settled into the idea that what’s meant for me will never truly miss me - i.e. that dating would come at the right time - life got a lot easier. And while I don’t throw things at men who enter my sphere without provocation, these lovely things called boundaries help keep the peace. 

For now though, I quite like the idea of throwing clam shells at the occasional passer-by…except in our case it’s probably more like confetti and glitter and stray legos. I wonder if the female octopus would throw legos if offered?
