Onions

Watercolor and watercolor crayon, this 9X12 piece was inspired by my rainbow set of Art Philosophy paints. Though not necessarily reflective of ALL colors of the rainbow, the glow of purples and yellows, their contrasting hues dancing and playing off each other, remind me of those gigantic yellow and purple onions my mother would dot all around her garden when I was a kid. 

I am always fascinated by the color combinations - seemingly off putting or contradictory - and just how they actually do work together.
